A Mentor must be passing classes with one of the following grades: A, B, or C. Only one below average grade is allowed (D or F)
A Mentor is someone that is “responsible” and “cares” for others.
A Mentor will need to take time to communicate with his/her freshmen at least once a week via phone, text, face to face talks, etc.
A Mentor leads by example, therefore he/she is expected to follow school rules.
If someone meets the above requirements, they will need to attend the "Call-Out" Meeting (usually in January) to meet with Mr. O'Shea and current Mentors to hear more about the program and expectations. After the meeting if you are still interested in becoming a Mentor, you will fill out an information sheet and turn it into Mr. O'Shea.
Mr. O'Shea will assign a date at the "Call-Out" meeting for all information sheets to be turned in. He will then check to make sure that you are meeting the grade requirements, tardy requirements, and following school rules. If you meet all of this criteria, you will officially become a Mentor after paying the club's $25 fee.
