What is Super Bowl?
Super Bowl is an academic competition where high school teams compete against each other in five different subjects: math, science, English, history, and fine arts. You can pick up to two teams to join. There is also an interdisciplinary round at the end of each meet where questions from any subject can be asked.
How many players are on each team?
Five players play on each team, but only three are allowed to compete at one time.
How do the meets work?
Each team takes a twenty-five question multiple choice test over their subject. Once each question is read, team members are allowed to talk and collaborate with one another for about thirty seconds. Once the time is up, the question is marked right or wrong and the next question is read.
How many meets are there?
The Super Bowl season lasts from late winter to spring and consists of a scrimmage, two invitationals, area meet, and a state tournament upon qualification.
How many practices are there?
Practices typically occur one or two times a week depending on which subject(s) you play.
What is this year’s theme?
Each year’s season focuses on a specific era in history. This year’s theme is The Roaring Twenties!

Science Olympiad
What is Science Olympiad?
“Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of 23 team events in each division. Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. Through Science Olympiad, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders bond together and work toward a shared goal.” (soinc.org)
The time commitment will vary with which, and how many, events you choose to participate. Regional competition is in February and the commitment becomes much more demanding during that time. Most meetings are outside of school, this time is used to build events and study materials.
Membership Limits
There is a 15 member with 2 alternatives limit during competition. However, there is an unlimited amount of people that can be involved with research and building as the team prepares for competition.

Speech Team
Speech team centers on the art of forensics, also known as public speaking. Speech team is more than that though. Speech team is a giant family that does skits together, plays games, and participates in crazy warm-ups. We also compete in competitions around the state.
In speech, there are many different categories you can enter for competition. A few include duo, in which you and a partner perform a skit; poetry, where you read a collection of poems; and radio, where you create a fake radio speech as if you were a DJ. We also offer Drama and humor for the actors. Discussion we consider debate-like. Extemporaneous speaking is for you if you know your current events. Oratorical Interpretation and original oratory are real speeches written by a professional or a future professional-you! Original performance is for the creative writers and prose tests your storytelling skills. The speech team has something for everyone!
