The McCutcheon Boys Golf team swept three separate three-way matches during its final week of the regular season.
McCutcheon started the week with its final home match at the Ravines Golf Course. The Mavs shot 155 to beat Tri-County with 238 and Frontier with 220. Senior James Sanders and Junior Jeffery Cook tied for medalist honors, shooting one over par.
The team traveled to Rocky Ridge Golf Course near Darlington to take on Western Boone and North Montgomery. The Mavs shot 162 easily fending off the Stars and the host Chargers. Cook carded a 39, three over par, to earn medalist honors.
Coach Josh Frauhiger's team wrapped up the regular season with a match at Purdue's Birck Boilermaker Kampen Golf Course. The Mavs beat the host West Lafayette Red Devils by 11 strokes and well ahead of the Attica Red Ramblers. Junior Dylan Dexter posted the lowest score for the round shooting two over par.
In weekend tournament play, the JV placed third in the JV City-County Invitational May 17 at West Lafayette Golf and Country Club. Freshman Reece Dunbar shot a 48 on 9 holes to lead the Mavs to a 208 team finish.
The varsity competed in the West Lafayette Boys Golf Invitational at Purdue University's Kampen Course May 18. The Mavs placed tenth out of a competitive 15 team field. Sanders shot the lowest for the team, 11 over par.
