TSC student artwork chosen for national exhibit

The National Art Education Association selected a McCutcheon High School student's art project for the 2019 National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition. Senior Catherine Palmer will have her embroidery piece on display from January 28-April 12 at the association's gallery in Alexandria, Virginia. Nearly 1,000 pieces were submitted and only 63 were chosen for the exhibit.

"We are so proud of Catherine," says art teacher Lyndsey Keiser. "This was also a team effort, as her work was designed and completed in my fibers class, but teacher Benji Florian did the work of submitting the entry."

Catherine says her work was inspired by Greek and Roman artwork. "The award means a lot to me. I am very excited about the national show," says Catherine. She plans to continue studying art in college.
