The February 12 matchup between Harrison and Muncie was more than just a game—It was the 14th annual Hoops for Hope. Harrison High School’s Student Council held a Mr. Harrison pageant and many other activities to raise money to help a family in need.

At halftime, students presented an $11,000 check to McCutcheon junior Mikayla Pelfree. Pelfree is fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a type of cancer in the blood and bone marrow.

“Hoops for Hope recipients receive financial support to help alleviate costly expenses caused by their medical condition,” says sponsor Gail Haberstroh. “Community support has been overwhelming. We appreciate everyone’s support for this campaign.”
