We moved here from Peoria, Illinois in 2011 when my husband Dale was transferred with Caterpillar. We have been married since 2004 and have an awesome son, Drake who attends St. Boniface Catholic school.
I originally received a BS in Human Resources from Bradley University, but decided to return to school to become a teacher. I received a BS in Biology Teacher Education from Illinois State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Purdue University after we moved here.
I really enjoy helping students achieve success in the classroom and feel more confident in their ability to learn tough subjects. I have always enjoyed all topics in science but really struggled with reading comprehension as I went through school. I work really hard to make science accessible and easy to understand no matter what your background or interests are. My favorite memories of being a teacher are always when students come back to say what a difference I made for them. There is no greater gift than knowing you helped a student whether it is in your subject area or not.
We are very active at St. Thomas Aquinas parish and enjoy volunteering our time in the community. Our family also enjoys visiting national parks (especially Glacier National) and traveling along with supporting our son with his activities such as Purdue tennis and Cub Scouts. We are big Purdue fans! I personally enjoy gardening (even though I'm not good at it) and playing slow-pitch softball in the WL league.
