Mav Students Serve the Community!
Kerry Yoder

Spearheaded by Coach Josh Strasser, the McCutcheon Maverick Football Team organized a community cleanup day at Romney Meadows in Lafayette. Coach Strasser believes it is important for his team to understand the value of service to others, specifically those who are a part of the Greater Lafayette Community and supporters of public education. Working in tandem with the football team were the MHS Students in Action Club as well as the MHS Only Human Club.

Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with the cleanup event, as the approaching thunder and lightning caused the event to wrap up early. Within the approximately 90 minutes of work completed, MHS students were able to pick up most of the trash and debris in the area and planted flowers at the entrance. The goal is to return to finish some tasks not yet completed and host a community cookout. The McCutcheon Maverick Football Team, the Students in Action Club, and the Only Human club students and sponsors want to thank the parents who volunteered to help with this event, MHS FFA for flower donation as well as the RM Management Group for working with us. We look forward to coming back soon!
