Students learn firsthand about the Holocaust from a survivor
Holocaust education is thriving in McCutcheon this fall. The cast of Dark Road was invited by The Bureau of Jewish Education and The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission to perform in November in Indianapolis for the 19th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Youth Summit. Included in the picture below is the executive director of the BJE (Dina David) and a child (Tibor Klopfer) of Holocaust survivors with the cast.
On December 2, students in Stella Schafer's World Literature and Tim O'Shea's World History classes traveled to the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute. They listened to Holocaust survivor Eva Kor, a survivor of Dr. Mengele's experiments in Auschwitz. The students were highly impacted by Eva's story and message of forgiveness.
