Theatre Arts students put their artistic talents to use during a training exercise with Shadeland and West Point Volunteer Fire Departments. McCutcheon High School students used makeup to help the injuries of victims in a mock car crash appear realistic. Students Olivia Alkire, NIcole Huff and Karlie Huffer created one patient with a head injury, a second patient with a broken femur and a third with an impalement. Michael Etzkorn, with the West Point Fire Department, says the makeup made the training very realistic for the firefighters.
Theatre Arts is an elective course offering for TSC students. The class often has students involved in plays and musicals, but also partnering with community organizations. Drama Club officer Nicole Huff says the club provides volunteers for face painting at community events, among other things. "We are always happy to be a part of something in the community," says Nicole.
